Welcome Back Friends

It has been some time since I last posted here. This has been regrettable, as blogging is something I would like to make a habit of. Some reasons I'd like to develop a habit of blogging are the development of a routine and also to maintain and improve my writing skills. So in order to stay consistent, I will allocate time each Sunday for blogging. This will also make it so my blog has a consistent release date, sort of like a TV show. However, I doubt this blog will get many regular readers, as popular TV shows do. Speaking of TV shows, there have been multiple comparisons between the new hit movie, Obsession, and an episode of the long-running horror series, Supernatural. If you don't know the plot of Obsession, I'll give a quick summary and try to avoid spoilers.

The main character, a boy named Bear, has a crush on his friend, Nikki. He wants to confess his feelings but he is too scared. When he is speaking to Nikki over the phone, he learns that she has lost her crystal necklace and also that she has submitted her two weeks' notice. Thinking of getting her another necklace, he goes to this new age shop but ends up buying this thing called a one-wish willow instead. The store owner tells him not to come complaining, since people often do. Bear asks if people complain because the wishes don't work; the owner tells him they complain because they do work.

Bear goes to hang out with Nikki and their other two friends, Ian and Sarah. Ian prevents Bear from telling Nikki about his feelings all night, and Bear doesn't really get a chance until the end of the night. Nikki needs a ride home, and Bear is the one to offer it. During the ride, Nikki asks Bear if he knows Sarah likes him, which Bear does because it is obvious. Nikki then tells him that no one would ever know if she liked a guy. For all those thinking Nikki also likes Bear, she said ew to him multiple times throughout the night, and also when he told her that he got her something.

When Bear drops off Nikki, he makes several mistakes, such as calling her by an old nickname she hates, freaky Nikki. Before going inside, Nikki asks Bear if he likes her, and as you can guess, he is unable to confess his feelings. In frustration, he uses the one wish willow and wishes "I wish Nikki loved me more than everyone in the world". After this, Nikki comes back outside to talk to Bear, and our story begins. I plan on doing a review of Obsession next week, so please watch the movie before you read my next post.

Oh yeah, back to my main point, Curry Barker's Obsession has a lot of similarity to an episode of the TV show Supernatural. After my review next week, I'd like to dive deeper into whether this is concidence or plagarism. For now, goodbye.
