Better Late Than Never

Hello Readers

Having missed my scheduled posting date, I believe it is wise for me to use this entry to reflect on the benefits of staying consistent. The entry for this week was meant to be a review of the film Obsession, but since I missed that, I plan on pushing that back once again. Here lies the biggest issue with inconsistency, stuff gets pushed back. Take the gym for example. You might want to do a push day on Monday, but instead decide to get a large pizza with a slurpee and watch cartoons all day. Since you decided to give up your push day, you must now either wait a whole week to do the session, or push your whole workout routine back.

One of the worst places to be inconsistent in is studying. Let's say you have a test next Friday, and today is Thursday. You say you have a week to study so you spend the day binge watching Netflix and eating ice cream. Now it's Friday, but not the Friday of the test so you decide to go out with friends for the night and get no sleep. Because of your actions last night, you are now too tired to study on Saturday and have to rest all day. Now comes Sunday, which you use to complete your weekend errands so another day is gone. Then comes Monday, finally time to study, right? Instead a professor for another class reminds you that your group project proposal needs to be presented before the following Monday. And just like studying for the test, it is just another thing you have yet to start. When I first started moving through this week, you may have thought I'd have you waste every single day of the week, but no. Just wasting a couple days is enough to throw someone completely out of the loop. This is especially true for students of subjects like Computer Science and Mathematics where you cannot really wing assignments. Each day counts, so count each day.

Despite consistency being a general positive, you can also be consistent in negative ways. One could be a consistent drinker or gambler. My negative consistency is my excessive use of Instagram reels and the forum Reddit. Both of these offer no benefit to my life, yet I find it almost impossible to stop using them. I have greyscaled multiple apps on my phone. I even coded an extension to block or limit my site usage which I hope to publish to the Chrome extension store soon. We are now using software to prevent ourselves from using software. I hope my extension makes it onto the Chrome store and is able to help not just me, but others. I'm plugging it on my blog despite it being in the projects section of this site.

This is a shorter entry, but I felt as if it had to be written. Hopefully by reading this, you are also able to reflect on your inconsistency or bad consistency. I will sign off for now, and look forward to getting back to regular blogging this week.
